GCSE results
2019 was the first year of exam results for Ridgeway academy and we saw a significant improvement in comparison to historical results from our predecessor school. Our progress score of -0.19 was a significant improvement on previous years and made us one of the most improved schools in Hertfordshire.
Our outcomes are in line with national average and our students perform particularly well in English, Maths and MFL (which is significantly above national average outcomes for students).
English and Maths:
English: 9-4 grades (old grade A*-C and above): 74%
Maths: 9-4 grades (old grade A*- C and above): 69%
We are very proud of the efforts and outcomes for our year 11 students who worked extremely hard to achieve results that have allowed them to move to their next stage of learning.

A level results
Ridgeway academy is part of the Welwyn and Hatfield 6th form consortium which provide a broad range of A levels and level 3 vocational courses delivered at 5 local secondary schools. The outcomes for students are good.
In 2019 92% of students achieved A-E grades in A level subjects, the average grade for students was C grade.
Ridgeway academy English Literature A level achieved the highest value-added score of all A level subject in the Welwyn and Hatfield consortium.

Level 3 vocational courses
In 2019 100% of students completing vocational courses achieved a level pass or above with the average grade being a merit +.
Students achieved grades that gained them entry to a range of degree and advanced apprenticeship courses including Biomedical sciences, Law and Physics. We are extremely proud of our 6th form students achievements thus far and wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.
